Taste of India Discoveries

We wanted to share our discoveries from the Taste of India Food market because we think they’re amazing.  Unfortunately we were too busy devouring the food to take any pictures, which is a big mistake on our part but hope to add some at a later date on our second round of tasting!

The BEST home-cooked food by the family behind RollingRoti – authentic, full-flavoured melt-in-the-mouth curries.  Tender lamb curry in a rich spiced sauce, chilli paneer with sweet sticky peppers, light fluffy rice & freshly cooked chapattis.  Oh, and soft, slightly sweet dhokla with mint yoghurt & roasted coconut.  Look out for them at the next food festival & make sure you get in line!  info@rollingroti.co.uk

Fresh, authentic chaat from Horn OK Please  @Horn_Please.  This lovely duo prepare everything themselves from their amazing date & tamarind chutney that they peel, de-seed & pulp by hand to their chickpea masala which is poured all over their crispy samosas.  They also make beautifully light bhel puri which is clean tasting & had fresh pomegranate sprinkled over it.  Check them out at Brick Lane market on Sundays.

Our final fantastic find was Community Kitchen Project @CommunityKitch1 run by a small team of passionate people looking to create opportunities whilst delivering a successful business based upon freshly prepared, delicious food.  Soft, juice lamb kofta served in a giant chapatti with fresh salad & coriander is the perfect lunch time fill if you want something a bit lighter.  Homemade chilli sauce optional J  They also have marinated chicken & chickpea masala so make sure you include them in your tasting line up at their next event.
